New Delhi: The National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO) is yet again in news for wrong reasons. In a shocking revelation that came into light, an official of the NTRO was booted out of the agency for secretly filming women colleagues in the toilet.
The NTRO is the country’s premiere technical intelligence agency and was set up after the Kargil intrusion.
As per reports, the alleged filming of women staffers at the NTRO’s Hauz Khas office in New Delhi actually happened three years ago, but it has surfaced only now.
It was learnt that some women staffers who worked in NTRO’s temporary office complained about a spycam fixed in their toilet with the feed from the camera being accessed by a computer manned by the agency’s counter-intelligence and security unit.
According to reports, after the matter came to knowledge of NTRO officials, two internal probes were conducted but the matter was not brought to the notice of the Prime Minister’s Office, which the agency reports to.
