Furious villagers kill Tiger, forest officials turn mere spectators

Raipur: The ferocious Tiger wandering near Rajnand district area has been brutally killed by the villagers. The villagers were furious with the recent killings of their kettle at the hands of a Tiger in the area. The forest officials were called to track down the Tiger so as to relocate him to a safer place. However, the villagers reached the scene before the forest officials could arrive and killed the Tiger.
The villagers, large in numbers, carried metal rods and narrowed down the Tiger while the forest officials were mere spectators to the incident. The villagers celebrated the killing of the Tiger by dragging his corpse to the Rajnand village. The forest officials at the scene, when tried to intervene, were scared away by the furious mob of villagers.

The incident has sparked a controversy over the alleged killing of the Tiger. The representatives of the wildlife conservation body have alleged negligence on the forest officials in the incident. The forest officials, if acted responsibly, could have saved the Tiger. The forest department is now gearing up to book the villagers for the alleged killing of the Tiger.
